Your captain

Dave Eng.

Dave has been chasing salmon since he was old enough to ride a bike to the water — deck handing on Vancouver saltwater charters at twelve, then guiding in Rivers Inlet, Tahsis, and Haida Gwaii, with off-seasons spent chasing trout through Patagonia and stalking bonefish on the flats of Belize.

In 2011 he took the leap and started his own charter operation in Prince Rupert — the obvious home port for a serious saltwater enthusiast. Twenty-plus years in the industry have taught him a few things about safe, memorable trips. And more than a few about putting fish in the boat.

Every Sunset Charters guide is hand-picked for skill, experience and the kind of patience that makes a first-timer's day.

“I've been on a number of charters all over Vancouver Island, Kitimat and Prince Rupert, and I can honestly say that Dave is one of the best!”
